For my first blog post I thought I would do a little Christmas tourist one by showing you what me and Nathan (my fiancĂ©) got up to at the York Christmas markets. We went on the train which took about an hour (I think) and £20 each return. Of course, the first thing we did when we got off the train was find the nearest costa for a cup of tea as it was so cold. I tried the lindt hot chocolate as it's my favourite chocolate but didn't like it, yet Nathan who hates lindt loved it?
We then tried looking on google for somewhere to go for breakfast but ended up going in the Slug and Lettuce which I’d heard good things about. I don’t know if they were having an off day but we weren’t impressed. The cups were dirty and the full English breakfast wasn’t that yummy. At least we got some cute pictures.
Whenever me and Nathan go anywhere we like to google places for inspiration on what to see, where to eat, coffee shops etc.
We did some shopping in the normal shops and then went into the markets where we bought three cute tree decorations which were 3 for £5, really cheap and the quality is amazing!

Then we found the Harry Potter shop ‘the shop that must not be named.’ AHHHH! When we seen this had opened earlier this year in York we were so excited to go. I love the Harry Potter films and Nathan is a mega fan so we were like two little kids. A lot of the stock was things I hadn’t see before which I was surprised at but it was really unique and such a cool idea!
Although we both don't really drink often, we couldn't not go and have a cocktail. I'd seen a lot of people on Instagram go to two popular ones, so we thought we would try both; The Botanist and The Evil Eye Lounge.
The cocktails in the botanist were amazing! There were in the pots and planters section of the menu and £7.50 each. I've added a link on the picture to the menu if you want to have a look. Overall we had an amazing day full of fun, festivity and FOOD! Would recommend York Christmas markets 100%.
